Rated Capacity Indicator 'RCi'

An excavator is designed for digging but due to their flexibility they are more often than not used for lifting.  This means that the excavator designed for digging is now being used as a crane.  If lifting more than 1 tonne the operator is required to see on an in cab display the Load, Height and Radius ensuring regulatory compliance.  Your excavator can become a crane once it has an RCi solution installed (check valves and other requirements would also need to be met).

Rated Capacity Indicator 'RCi'
This solution will monitor the lifting operation.
Rated Capacity Limiter 'RCL'
This solution will not only monitor but control the lifting operation, maximising the lift capacity well not allowing the machine to exceed it's lift capabilities.
Height Limiter comes as standard with 'RCL.'

Why do I need an ‘RCi’ Rated Capacity Indicator?

Excavators are designed primarily for digging but they are very versatile and often used for lifting.  When deciding to perform a lifting operation with an excavator it then becomes a crane and falls into LOLER ‘Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations’ .

Exceed LOLER compliance with our XWSeries XW2 Rated Capacity Limiter including Height Limiter or increase its functionality with the option of a Slew Limiter and meet the Highways requirements with one simple solution, the XW5.

Our Rated Capacity Indicator will monitor and display to the operator the Radius, 'SWL' Safe Working Load and the 'LOH' Load On Hook in real time as the Height and Radius of the lifting point changes during the lift.  An alarm will sound as the excavator approaches its maximum lift capacity.  Our Rated Capacity Limiter has the added ability to control the lift by not just sounding an alarm but stopping the motion that will take the machine into a potentially unsafe condition.

The XWSeries of Safety & Productivity tools are the product of choice for project instigators and major tier one contractors.

Why is the XWSeries the product of choice?

We follow a #ClearMind #ClearView approach which means the XWSeries is simple to use with no costly training required meaning the operator is focused on the job in hand outside the cab.  Multiple functions can be incorporated into one simple to use solution: -
Limits can be set and controlled via an optional supervisor Key Switch.  Our legendary magenta beacon will show when the system is in operation so the onsite supervisor can see at a glance that the systems are in use if they are required.  If not onsite why not make use of our ‘IoT’ Site Connectivity option where system operation can be viewed from the comfort of your desktop or any mobile device.  With our 'IoT' option comes Data Logging so you can look back in time and see how the excavator has been utilised, and make decisions on whether it is the right choice of machine for that site, is the machine constantly reaching its lift capacity, do you need a larger machine; is the machine constantly reaching its set limits, would a smaller machine be better suited for the site; you may just decide further operator training is required.  If  the machine is on hire you would have the ability to see if the machine is or has been worked after being off hired.
Automatic 'Creep Control' can be initiated via a third-party system.  This can be any approved third-party solution such as an RFID Proximity Warning System ‘PWS’ or camera solution with personnel awareness for example.  During a detection ‘Creep Control’ activates and slows down the excavator, the operator remains in full control with full power but at a reduced speed so the ground operations can be protected, and work carried out within the slew area.

All things considered; with a lower initial investment and lower cost of ownership you can very quickly see why the XWSeries is the product of choice raising the standards of site safety and productivity.
