Height Limiter
Monitors and controls the working height of a Mobile Elavated Work Platform. This allows the Operator or Supervisor to set a Height Limit suitable for the site conditions, thus increasing site Safety and Productivity as the machine can be operated in the confidence that the equipment will be unable to breach the ceiling set.
Slew Limiter
Monitors and controls the working Slew envelope of a Mobile Elavated Work Plateform.
There are two types of Slew Limitation.
Simple Angular Slew whereby the Slew left and Slew right of the machine are monitored and controlled.
Virtual Wall is a more complex Slew Limitation whereby both the slew of the machine and extension are monitored and controlled.
Angular slew limiting
Angular slew limiters use two points. One to the left and the other to the right that extend outwards from the centre of the MEWP. Minimum and maximum reach is not monitored or controlled. The MEWP equipment is kept within these pre-set limits. To achieve this a motion cut is applied to the following two functions; Slew left & Slew right on approach to set limit.
Virtual wall slew limiting
More advanced Slew Limiters use virtual wall technology to deliver improved envelope control. Ideal for working on or next to highways or railways, operators can easily set singular, dual-point virtual walls to avoid multiple hazards in busy environments, improving Safety and Productivity. The MEWP equipment is kept within these pre-set limits. To achieve this a motion cut is applied to the following functions; Slew left & Slew right; Boom up & Boom down; Extension out. Due to the number of motion cuts installed to meet the requirements of virtual wall Height Limitation is generally included and if required minimum, maximum reach giving full-envelope control.
