One of the biggest challenges for Fleet Managers is to protect vehicle operators and site personnel from the difficult and dangerous manoeuvre of reversing. This Reverse Radar technology is the industry’s most flexible, accurate and powerful, active blind spot monitoring solution. Capable of detecting up to 16 stationary and moving targets simultaneously. Deployed on over 80,000 vehicles, in over 37 countries. A programmable* radar sensor is installed to the rear of the machine and calibrated on-site by an engineer to match vehicle specifications and to achieve optimum detection ability. In the cab, intelligent algorithms filter false detections and communicate only verified targets in real time to the machine operator via a distinct but non-nuisance audible and visual warning display. Automatic braking** - when objects are detected within a critical distance, the system can automatically request the application of vehicle brakes as a final lifeline to help assist the operator and protect against accidents. This additional feature is available for most heavy plant but is not part of the standard offering, we can help you assess if this is suitable for your fleet operation.

Our vision solutions are suitable for use on 'Off Highway Plant' and machinery including excavators.  The camera, monitor and recording systems are shockproof and present a clear daylight readable image.  Built in Quality comes as standard, provding excellent performance and longevity.
Sphere Vision 360 HD

Our vision solutions are suitable for use on ‘Off Highway Plant’ and machinery as well as road going vehicles.  The camera, monitor and recording systems are shockproof and present a clear daylight readable image.  We can provide up to 8 channel recording in full HD 1080p using 2 megapixel camera's with an option for cloud connectivity providing live video, location and event information.

We strongly believe safety is paramount at all times.  There are many blind spots around 'Off Highway Plant' and many large road going vehicles, as a result the operator or driver can have an inadequate field of vision in his immediate vicinity.  The ISO 5006 standard states that an imaginary line 1.5m high and 1m round the machine must be visible.  Our vision systems will enable you to satisfy the standard.

The innovative Sphere Vision 360 HD system utilises up to 8 Full HD, 2MP camera’s, with a 195° horizontal viewing angle, secured to each side of the asset.  The images from 4 cameras are continually processed and digitally ‘stitched’ together to provide a seamless 360° ‘Birds Eye View’ on the in-cab LCD monitor.  This ensures the operator can see potential hazards all around eliminating blind spots, resulting in improved safety.

In many ‘Off Highway Plant’ machines operators are continually bombarded with random audible beeps and flashing lights which can drive operators to ignore the warnings making these systems counterproductive.  Supporting our #ClearMind #ClearView philosophy, we have introduced a camera solution that distinguishes between objects and people reliably, providing a robust and cost-effective technology that takes us into the future.  This solution will send a clear message to the operator only when there is a detection of a ground worker/pedestrian within the reach of the machine.  This detection would be displayed to the operator via the in-cab camera display, but we can also seamlessly invoke ‘creep control’ on our XWSeries of Safety and Productivity solutions reducing the machine to 50% of its operating speed during detection; when the detection is no-longer present the machine will automatically revert back to full speed.   All with no interaction from the operator.

People Recognition

Sphere Vision ‘Ai’ is an advanced Artificial Intelligence system using People Recognition technology to aid in the prevention of man machine accidents.  With pedestrians and site ground workers in challenging environments, particularly on congested construction sites and large infrastructure projects, Sphere Vision ‘Ai’ is a great aid to a safer construction site.  On most sites separating people and plant is challenging and not always possible.  In situations where plant and people interact, our system can dramatically mitigate the risk of injuries and fatalities.  Unlike other solutions that will sense not only people but all solid objects which can result in the system constantly bleeping and leading the operator to become frustrated and more complacent with every bleep, this solution will recognise people.  The two camera ‘Ai’ system, can differentiate between objects and people.  When personnel are detected the system won’t bleep but will announce ‘Pedestrian Detected’ and place a box around the individual(s), like that of your smart phone.

This solution supports our #ClearMind #ClearView philosophy by only interacting with the operator when needed. 

In addition to audible alerts, we provide options for video output, so the view from the cameras can be displayed on an In-cab display.

A full Sphere Vision 360 HD solution providing a birds eye view of the immediate area around the machine combined with a Sphere Vision ‘Ai’ solution with twin cameras facing rear provide the operator with great around visibility and with no unnecessary beeps our twin In-cab displays and voice command when pedestrians are detected at the rear of the machine provide a great combination.
